Freckl
Freckl offers personalised ‘big sister’ tips on die- tary hormonal regulation to 16-25 y/o mens- truators who want to feel good in their own skin by collaborating with existing Femtech solu- tions and incorporating engaging techniques, such as gamification and progress visualisation, in a multichannel experience.

Existing research uncovers aspects, such as skin health, menstruation, and dietary habits; the relation between skin and menstruation, and skin and dietary habits; but the
intersection of these three crucial topics remains largely unexplored.

This proposal aims to clarify the link between skin, menstruation and dietary habits and how it pre-vents menstruating people from thriving. By filling this data space , the project seeks to develop an accessible tool for maximising the well-being and confidence in young menstruating people through dietary hormonal regulation.

The project’s focus emerged through a detailed breakdown of one of the brief ‘In your Skin’, part of the RSA Student Awards. By pinpointing key concepts, an opportunity emerged to explore skin health and confidence from an internal rather than from a topical perspective, emphasising its connection to gut health and dietary habits. Considering the importance of sex disaggregation in hormonal fluctuations and skin health, the scope was narrowed to 16-25-year-old menstruating individuals, making it the start point of this project.
